Healing… timeline …

LCCA fabrics 14-3-16Piecing back together.. colours…feelings… in 2008 mapping out the “unused” resources led to receiving 15bags of fabric and possibly as many boxes over the years… as well as discovering an empty space and many hearts to fulfil…

Yesterday the LCCA textile students were overwhelmed to receive a gift from the London circular economy to create the college first ever Tissutheque…… (it works….) <<<a piece of cloth with its hanger- information content, weight, manufacturer- has so much more worth for the fashion student… it is a foot in the industry>>>:

Today I received another note from another happy textile magician with even more years ahead being 8…

Between 2004 and 2006 I witnessed some of the old family sewing businesses go to waste…and slowly the same would happen to fabrics agents and possibly people like me… when the streets of Tottenham looked like a daily catwalk of really stylish youths who struggled on a daily basis with difficult life conditions, yet very proud and able to make a stunning appearance…

So resources matched… and the process started … the best part is to see a person gain a deeper sense of self through the creative healing process, which builds the deepest kind of confidence… confidence to trust the unknown and to know the treasures are inside… ready to shine… ready to stay…

SO THANK YOU FOR   <<<SHARING THE TIMELINE>>> ALL>>>

**special thanks to SueMe Founder Jools who has provided support with vision and resources from the sportswear industry to sustain the circular economy…**

3 hands 3 generations

20160301_184244 Hands are my favourite thing… since my grandmother taught me how to say “give me the hand please” to the airhostess in Spanish when flying back from Morrocco to Spain, age 5…and I cannot forget hands, how they look, feel and help you…

Yesterday 3 magic ladies came to have a red dress made for mother’s day, Grandma, that is…

50-80-12…this is how old/young these hands are… old is not such a nice word, 80 (years… in French we just count the years… do not  add Old… at the end of the number… )

80..is grandma’s : she knows all about cutting making sewing and has tons of fabrics at home she will not be able to use…

12– is granddaughter’s… dreaming of being a designer and NOT sewing…

50 ** is mum’s … she is ready for her textile business…

Skills, confidence, training… all it takes for a successful resurgence of family connections, in our disconnected parts… not to break to chain… this is women’s mission… and following David Lammy Twitter comment on betting shops… we think.. hum… shops for fabrics and skills to be passed on and turned into a family business… & Daughters… for a change…??? Ant venture capital please?
